Cub Promise

The Promise is a simple way to help us celebrate our shared Scout values. There are different versions for our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. This is the Cub Scout Promise:

“I promise that I will do my best
  • to uphold our Scout values, to do my duty to The King, to help other people (atheist/no faith)
  • to seek refuge in the Triple Gem, to do my duty to The King, to act with compassion towards all life (Buddhist)
  • to do my duty to God and to The King, to help other people (Christian)
  • to follow my dharma and do my duty to The King, to act with compassion towards all life (Hindu)
  • to uphold our Scout values, to do my duty to The King, to help other people (Humanist)
  • to do my duty to God and to The King, to help other people (Jewish)
  • to do my duty to Allah and then to The King, to help other people (Muslim)
  • to do my duty to Waheguru and to The King, to help other people (Sikh)

and to keep the Cub Scout Law.”

You’ll read this during your investiture. But don’t worry, you don’t need to memorise it!

Cub leaders

Our leaders are trained volunteers, working to make sure Scouting is safe, inclusive and accessible. Some lead the Pack week in and week out. Others visit occasionally to help run a session or drop in to share their skills.
